F1 2024 Bahrain GP FP3 Results
Carlos Sainz is heading into the Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying with high spirits, having secured the fastest lap in the final practice session.
Clocking in at 1:30.824, the Spaniard, set to depart Ferrari at season's end, edged out Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso by a mere 0.141 seconds.
Despite the time of day rendering these results not fully indicative of true pace, the performance has certainly stirred excitement for what's to come in qualifying.
Max Verstappen, while not dominating any of the three practice rounds, claimed the third fastest time for Red Bull, trailing behind Alonso and leading ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and McLaren's Lando Norris.
George Russell emerged as the fastest Mercedes, landing in sixth place, followed closely by Norris' teammate Oscar Piastri and Red Bull's Sergio Perez, who notably opted for a stint on Hard tyres over the usual Softs.
Nico Hulkenberg continued to show speed for Haas, securing a position in the top 10 alongside Lance Stroll, who was just 0.572 seconds behind Sainz.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton found himself in 12th, with Alpine's Pierre Gasly at the back of the pack, setting the stage for an unpredictable and thrilling qualifying round.
