F1 2023 Italian GP – FP1 Results
Max Verstappen led the charts in Monza. During the first practice round on the Italian circuit, he was ahead of rivals Carlos Sainz and teammate Sergio Perez.
The selection of tyres was diverse from the get-go as drivers adapted to Pirelli's Alternative Tyre Strategy (ATS).
The majority opted for hard and soft compounds, whereas both Haas and Aston Martin used medium tyres.
Initially setting the pace was Oscar Piastri, utilizing soft compound.
Both Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu encountered issues exiting the pit lane, blaming anti-stall systems.
As times progressively improved, it was Max Verstappen who took the lead, with a time of 1m 22.657s while on hard tyres.
Carlos Sainz lagging by just 0.046s behind the Dutch driver.
