Brazilian F1 Sprint results: Verstappen wins again
Reigning world champion Max Verstappen claimed victory in the final Sprint race of the 2022 season at the Brazilian Grand Prix on Saturday, fending off a stern challenge from McLaren's Lando Norris.
Verstappen made a decisive move at the start, sweeping around the outside of pole-sitter Norris into Turn 1 to grab the lead.
Norris pressured Verstappen throughout but couldn't find a way past the masterful Dutchman. Sergio Perez completed the podium for Red Bull in third.
Russell audaciously passed Norris on Lap 1 but lost the place back. On Lap 8, Perez reclaimed P3 from Russell.
The top 10 drivers started the 24-lap Sprint on Soft tyres, with only AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda opting for a new set.
Tyre wear proved critical, as Norris struggled to match Verstappen's pace at the front.
